| The Value, Methods and Paths of Promoting English Abstracts of Academic Journals in the Context of International Communications |

Abstract As a vital component of academic research, the English abstract functions as a relatively independent academic discourse within papers, delivering core academic information, critical research contexts, academic thoughts, and viewpoint tendencies in a concise and comprehensive manner. It serves as a pivotal communication medium within the international academic discourse system. The English abstract acts not only as an "advertise" for academic communications, a "booster" for cultural communications, and a "new engine" for international communications but also as a "binder" for readers. Currently, in the communications of English abstracts of Chinese academic journals, issues such as insufficient attention and translation quality hindrance, the absence of standardized expression and information elements, and the constraints of cultural differences and language habits exist. To address these issues, Chinese academic journals have adopted strategies such as English summaries and extended abstracts to increase content depth. Database platforms have intensified overseas publicity and promotion through professional high-quality translation and targeted dissemination. Through high-quality publishing projects, we adhere to the "dual excellence" principle of selecting outstanding journals and articles, create and disseminate a batch of Chinese academic research reflecting fine Chinese culture and leading international science and technology, and jointly seek the focus of international communications and promotion for English abstracts. Against the background of international communications, the following measures should be taken to promote English abstracts in academic journals. First, we need to define clear goals, which show the functionality of communications through effective communication and interactive innovation. Effective communication and interaction must be based on the interests and characteristics of readers. Therefore, we need to strengthen communication and interaction with readers and consider interactive communication as an important factor in evaluating the promotion effect. Moreover, we need to pay more attention to the research content of Chinese humanities and social sciences and increase the promotion intensity and frequency of humanities and social sciences research so that humanities and social sciences can keep pace with natural sciences, form a joint force, and jointly promote Chinese academic achievements worldwide. Second, we need to consolidate the foundation, which bridges the disparities in communications through standardizing language and elements. More specifically, from the two dimensions of language norms and element norms, we adhere to the principles of readers first; then, we fully consider the reading characteristics, needs, habits and cultural background of foreign readers; and finally, we focus on accurate language communication and content integrity to bridge the differences in current communications. Finally, we need to plan for the future, which ensures the depth of communication through collaborative cooperation and technological support. We build an industry-university-research innovation system of academic communications through collaborative cooperation so that different subjects carry out different behaviors at different levels and dimensions of innovation, which promotes the efficient collaboration of Chinese academic international communications with the help of their respective strengths. Moreover, we use digital technology to analyse problems accurately and provide feedback results to advance the coverage of international communications and the promotion of English abstracts. Through the enhanced promotion of English abstracts, we will disseminate better academic achievements in a timely manner, thereby enhancing the international influence of Chinese academic research.
